I screwed up and left my emergency cable hooked up to may bumper last Tuesday, Wednesday I noticed the hook on the end of it laying on my bumper. Saturday morning I put the hook back on the cable and went to a local lake about three miles, when i returned to unhook I smelled brakes I went over and felt the hubs and they were hot, looked at the tounge and there is a sticker that says make sure to push tab to release brakes, is this all I need to do or is there something else to do. You may want to bleed the lines, if the brakes got that hot it may have boiled the fluid to the point of having some air in the lines now. BCB will be the source with the most correct answer. I wouldnt pull the trailer until I got an answer from them. Just to be on the safe side.

No, there is a small tab below the coupler that releases the cable tension. You have set your Emergency Brake and it must be released. The tab is a very small silver metal stamped part you depress upwards. You should replace the cable also.

BCB I have pushed the tab up and it did a small click up, with the Holliday weekend here can it still be towed without causeing any problems. I would like to run back to the lake today or in the morning am I going to cause any problems or am I just not going to have this feature until I get this replaced. Thanks Rodney

I would flip the switch, replace the cable and go fishing.

The tab should have released it. If you still have brake pressure, then use the slip in lock tab that should be in your black Bass Cat bag with your info. It is a small L shaped metal part that keeps the coupler from moving back. Though we are not sure that will help. You should not need it.
