The center cap will not fit on my new drifter wheels. What am I missing? The wheel bearing exceeds out too far for my center cap to fit. Ultra Wheels does not make a deeper cap. Im about 1/2″-5/8″ off. What is BassCat doing in the factory on this? Leaving them off? Spacers? Thanks Jay

When you say “block up” are you referring to getting the tire as up front as possible and level? Not on the slant the spare frame is on now? How much clearance between my tire and boat do I need to know my boat wont clip it when loading? Did you mean trailer spares arent meant for 15 or the whole trailer including axle? Thanks Jay

This trailer was not built for a 15″ spare, the tires will be fine on the axle. The moderator was speaking of raising the front of the spare to drop the rear which should in theory move the rear as much as you block the front up. BCB

Hi, blocking up the front of the spare tire worked out well. It gives me a 1/2″ clearance between the front and rear of the tire where it would meet the keel guard. Is 1/2″ adequate or would you suggest more? More would require fabricating something. Will the boat hit while loading? Thanks for the solution, if this works it saved me a great deal of time Jay

We think that hull will not fall enough to allow the bow eye to contact he tire, though a trip to the ramp answers this. Funky hinge happen with varying ramp angles.

What if I drop the spare tire holder 2-3 inches to be safe from impact above, do I have anything to worry about from it being lower? Lower impact of any kind? 1/2″ clearance by propping up the front of the tire is too much of a gamble for me cuz if there is contact Im quit confident the damage wont be minor or cheap. I was thinking of cutting the pair of the vertical steel at the 90 angle, right where it go horizontal. Then adding a longer 90 degree bracket on those vertical pieces then bolting it back together. How much space ideally should I have between the top of the tire and keel?
