I have a 2008 cougar ftd it has a humminbird 997 on the console and a lowrance on the front. when Im fishing I try to leave the bow unit on so I dont have to turn it on everytime i get to a new fishing spot. Just about everytime I crank the merc the unit has shut off by the time i get to a new spot. I did have a low voltage message on the bird a few times and I have had to use the jumper cables once, so I just replaced the cranking battery with a group 31 optima blue top. I went fishing saturday, no low voltage messages everything fine but the front unit still shut off a few times. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing it to shut off?
