Bow Light Post Interferes with Stow of Trolling Motor

I have a 2013 Cougar AE with a MG Tour 109, 45″ shaft I believe. I tried a little night fishing last week for the first time since acquiring my boat. I plugged in the bow light but later, when I tried to lift and stow the TM, I was unable to because the bow light post is in the way. Any suggestions? Thanks.

if yours the angled kind or straight kind? The light I got w/ my sabre from the previous owner has an angled shaft… and it clears the TM, just barely, but it clears… I guess that angle helps.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

Ive got the same deal with my rig. I just hang the bullet over the port side. I really dont like it on that side becuase its so heavy, but I figure for night fishing I wont be running too hard.

I have the same boat. If the TM foot is on the inside it hits. The prop on the inside clears, but mine has a MK motor

Thanks for the suggestions fellas. I took toledos advice and moved the motor farther out on the mount and it now clears. Probably shouldve been able to figure that out. I guess I just wasnt expecting to have that sort of problem.

Glad it was a simple fix. Dont ask why I suggested that. Another reason Im considering installing a fixed mounted low profile light up front where the existing socket is located. I may have to raise my TM mounts a 1/2″ or so to achieve proper visibility on both sides, but it would be worth it to me.
