It is not hard to replace. Depends on your mechanical skills. Some are easier to get to than others, you might end up having to disconnect something to get your hands in, depending on which motor version you have. I dont recall offhand where the 94 pump was, but I believe it was a pretty easy one to get to in the 2.5 days… {boy do I hate these touchpad laptops, thumb submitted post unintentionally} I believe the fuel pump is on the left side of the motor. There is a (used to be anyway) silver canister-looking device. The pump is located inside this. This entire device can become problematic in fact, as there is a check valve inside where the vapor is supposed to be separated and removed so that you only pump liquid to the injectors. You can remove this, disassemble it, and the pump is inside. At least on some motors. Cant guarantee this is correct for yours. There are machine screws that hold this thing together, when you remove them it will pop apart with the most aggravating o-ring on the planet sealing the thing. It appears to be an O-ring that is a tad too big. Mechanic friend once told me he freezes the thing to make it shrink back down to fit. When I did this several years ago (didnt know about the freezer trick), I found that vigorous cursing, along with a threat of replacing it by a rice-burner pump, caused the o-ring to stay in place long enough to get the two parts back together. A little 2-4-C on the o-ring will help it to “stick” in the groove, if you hold your mouth right, use proper language, and do it between 2 and 4pm on odd-numbered days that fall on a Thursday, except for months ending in R. Then you need to double up on the cursing. One thing you might look for, if you pump up the primer really firm, there is a small tube coming out of this canister that has a tiny hole in it for the vapor to escape from. If you get fuel out of there, then you are probably dealing with the check-valve sticking I mentioned. If you can hear the pump run, most of the time it is OK. I have seen one here and there that would run but could barely produce enough pressure to crank, much less run.Last edited by oldtimer57 on June 13th, 2009, 2:38 pm, edited 1 time in total.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
