two bunk questions

1. Ive read the lag bolts are 3/8 with a 9/16 head. Sorry to be a bit dim, but I assume the 3/8 is the thinkness. What is the length? It obviously cant be longer the the bunk is deep. Im thinking 1 inch with the bunk bracket and bunk board. Please correct if Im wrong.2. Adhesive for the carpet? I already ordered the BC replacement bunk carpet. What kind of adhesive would be best. About 1.5 to 1.75″ on the lag bolts. Rick

Ok, great. Thanks for the response.Anyone have suggestions for what adhesive to use for bunk carpet?

The standard bunks are glued and double padded on top, with contact cement. They are 2×6 stock in treated material, trimmed about 7/8″ from full width. They are chamfered on the rear and tapered on the front.
