Cougar rubbing on fender

Hey Guys it seems my boat is now always riding/rubbing on the right fender no matter how I load it. I did remove the two original layers of carpet and replaced with one layer of BC carpet but not sure if this is the issue. Anyone else experienced this ? Im thinking of adding a 1/2 inch spacer between the medal frame arm and the bunk to get it riding higher but wanted to see what others have done.

Simpler than this, just retweak the fender as we assume the fender has a slight angle to it for some reason. The brackets have popped up slightly and the fender is angled up to the outside, which forces the top in. Bend or have the brackets bent back level and you should be good. BCB

I like that idea. Should I remove the fender first ? If I recall in one of the past postes that there was some special glue or it was a little tricky…?

We use a 2″ bar that has a C end that goes around the frame, has a 2″ block attached that rides on the fender step. The long bar is attached just over the fender support and the down force is applied as desired. Simple!

Well last night I put a small piece of 2×4 on the back step of the fender where the back steel support member is welded to the frame. Then got a longer 2×4 maybe 7 feet and wedged it under the bunk with the boat on and pivoted on this small 2×4. I applied lots of down force and watched the fender move about a quarter inch maybe less but this was with extreme force and would bounce back as soon as the force was lifted. I tried heating up the metal and doing the same thing but nothing changed. I did notice the small middle (metal) support which is for the upper step when pulled by hand would get a similar effect , 1/8th inch movement. Not sure whats the next attempt will be ?

Basspro905, heat is not used in our process. They made a bar with a C on the end of a 2×2 long 1/4″ wall tube.

Did you ever get this figured out? I have a 2014 Puma doing the same thing.
