I have a fishing buddy thats looking for a good used Mercury motor. He would like an EFI in the 200 to 250 HP range but would consider a DFI if the price was right. Does anyone know where a brother might start looking or know where one might be? His boat is already set up with Merc controls.Thanks,weeman
I would call Jacos Marine, Screamandfly.com (buy and sell forums), Craigslist.com, call ALL of the Merc performance builders, I would do a Search, “2000-2005 Mercury EFI For Sale” and see what you pull up….Brannon
There is not a good source for used engines as a one place stop & shop location. You have to find an inner coastal dealer who has volume on repowering boats. Stay away from saltwater engines.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on April 23rd, 2010, 4:33 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I would talk to my local outboard repair dealers. I know down here in La we have a few who rebuild and sell used motors with a 6 month to 1 year warranty on the power head.
