Can you get the clear lighted handrails as an option on a Pantera IV? If not can they be installed after market?
lighted handrails are not an option, but you can install aftermarket with some self modification. not sure its worth the effort.
They can be installed after market with a LOT of modification. Ive seen it done once, researched it, and after I learned everything involved, I said forget it! JP

No major challenge which is minimal when googling the acrylic rods. Heck, I think you can buy them from BassCat parts. If I new that my job would have been made easier. Do a little internet search, have the ends lathed to fit the PIVs grommets, purchase the center metal “T”grommet to secure the rails from BassCat, drill holes at each end of the acrylic rails for lighted illumination and pick the color you want. I got all the parts prepared and my dealer did the install. I cant remember the cost but it was worth it to me and not crazy on the cost either. Most of the work is locating the Acrylic hand rails which was not difficult. If i had another PIV I would do it in a NY second. Ill see if I have any pics of the lighted hand rails for my PIV. If I find them Ill post them for you. Definitely fun bling factor that showcases the PIV.Last edited by Flyswatter on August 15th, 2012, 12:23 am, edited 3 times in total.
Here you go.
Id do it again if my SabreFTD had the hand rails.
I fished a lot at night with my pumas and i rarely used the lighted handrails..dont know why..probably cause i didnt want anyone to know where my brushpiles were. haha
Tom you make it sound so easy. To a guy with just a socket set and floor jack in the back of his truck. I havent seen a lathe since high school, and Im positive I know no one with access to one. Then come dimensions, and hole circumferences/radius of material. Thats when I figured, one day Id just sale my PIV and buy a Puma!

The new Puma that Rick and team has just released with the top cap refresh plus the wider front dek has the wow factor to illuminate the hand rails without a battery. I havent seen it yet but my bro has and he says the new wider front deck is noticeable and will get your attention. For me when I did the upgrade I was centric to my PIV as THE boat for me with no thoughts going Puma bound till a certain new Eyra opportunity came my way after I had completed the project. Doing my PIV hand rail project was more getting my ducks in a row gathering the materials then handing it all over to my dealer. So maybe our perspectives are different because I did not pain myself with the thought of doing it myself. So I can appreciate your comments. However when all was finished those handrails were way cool. Heck I even added a retractable stern light too. Maybe not the smartest thing to do but it was crazy seeing that stern light popping up and down. Now that was not an easy job per my dealer. I think he surprised a few folks with that one. Yep, I have a dealer that sees me coming, rolls his eyes and rolls up his sleeves to geter done. Bama96, Myself and others are lucky to have him in our area.Last edited by Flyswatter on August 15th, 2012, 4:04 am, edited 1 time in total.
