I recently purchased an HDS 7 with the idea of replacing my LMS 520. While doing some research before installation I noticed that some folks are running two graphs at the console. Hadnt really thought of that. Looking for input Pro/Con on running two at the console. Additionally if I was going to do this what RAM mount would be suggested. I have an 09 Puma FTD. Thanks for the input.Al Brooks

I went with the 2 graphs at console on my new rig. I will be using a HDS7 in console and a HDS10 on ram mount. My thinking is to use the 7 for mapping and running the lake. Then use the 10 for DI,SI for the bigger screen and more detail. Alot of my friends boats are setup this way and it works great. Also u have a backup unit incase of emergency.

We would install the RAM Tallon mount which BCB has at the console.

Thanks for the information. Im currently trying to run transducer wires from rear of boat to console. There has to be a trick to doing it. Everything Ive tried hasnt worked yet. Cant even get my hand far enough in to touch the wires on gunall in bilge area. Looking for ideas on how others have “fished” the wires to the front console. ThanksBig Al09 Puma FTD.

I too tried several things with no luck. Then I found a piece of pex pipe I think 1/2″ left over from a plumbing job. I taped the wires to it and pushed it up the gunnel. The pex is flexible enough to bend and work it through from the bilge. Im sure there are some better ways and tools but this worked for me. Hope it helps.

I took off the chrome bilge exhaust from that side and worked up that side gunnel to the console. Used a electricians fiberglass wire fishing rod. Worked great but a small diameter piece of PVC would work just as well and a lot less expensive. Be sure you start fishing your transducer wire back at the transom though cause that long lss transducer is pretty big. You dont want to have to fish it through many tight spots, if you know what I mean.

I added an HDS-8 at the console on my Sabre and kept the 520 in-dash (for now). Run SS and maps on the 8. Run 2D on the 520. Ill swap it with an HDS-5 eventually and use it for mapping.
