We hope you enjoy your new rig. The Margay will run and handle smooth ansnthe 150 should push it to the range your seeing. Be careful and set it up to run loaded like you intend to fish, not without weight, livewells or fishing partners.
We see all sorts of international and regional tendencies on performance. There are core bass boat sales areas which are obviously going to have more experience on boat operations and knowledge about proper setup. The vast majority of Bass boat sales exist in a much smaller area than most realize. That focused area tends to align mainline opinions seen frequently here. For example a 27 Fury and 28 Bravo May(?) be ones mans choice, though not our suggested propeller and it will have to be raised.
For some reason Australian Angler’s have a habit of also raising the propeller, which usually gives a tremendous amount of steering torque. We do not suggest raising the propeller in such cases because of mid range lift and top end handling. The boats don’t handle well and loaded they don’t perform best. They will be light weight runners only and that’s all they are good for.
We prefer a more versatile setup and those usually get a better customer experience. Anglers in Australia usually don’t make extremely long runs like the USA. That changes th missions and wants on setup also.
