Thank you Rick,
There is no doubt that bass cat boats was one of the first manufacturers to embrace the Internet and has reaped the benefits of the relationships that have been built from this owners board. I remember the early days of the board when Kevin with EZ boards I believe it was, was asking me to be the moderator and I was not comfortable with that. Bass cat stepped up and took it and there has been no looking back. Phil, Ward, Doug, Sam, GW, Joey, Luke, Myself, and many others I’m sure I’m forgetting were here from the very beginning of the owners board and it has been great to see the growth and change. None of us are as active on the boards as we used to be and some have moved on in life or have passed on to the heavens. BassCat has built quite a large following and has continued to grow through all types of economic pitfalls and industry changes. I believe strongly that this owners board and the folks that are always willing to offer there knowledge from bass cat as well as fellow owners have contributed heavily to that growth.

Just over 20 years ago we had a person pushing us to allow them to start a Bass Cat forum. We resisted approving this till a time we felt we could manage this forum ourselves. It was, and is, our way to be involved and to be a part tied to assisting. Timing as well had to be right. We wanted the Boats For Sale Section, the Garage Sale area. Then over time we added the Quest pages and the FAQ as the archive grew.
Now over 20 years later this Owners Board flourishes. The viewership on this page amounts to between 7,500 and 23,000 page views every single day. Google often directs searches here to find a fuel issue in your 200 EFI, or a bilge pump on a bass boat. It has provided a breadth of information to our consumers, what you have for over 40 years named the Bass Cat Family.
Today the “family” is changing and today it’s spread to the Owners Group on Facebook. Just like 30 years ago when there was not internet, the media world is changing fast and today web sites are yielding to Social Media. Thus people now chase the Facebook Owners Group, vs. this Owners Board. Still, our numbers here are consistent and the “family” is growing in all aspects.
Today we find ourselves always appreciative. We appreciate the “family” atmosphere and the continued sharing this board has, our Bass Cat “family” has. Other companies have come behind and use the word “family”, though you used it first and you express it every day through your actions.
As we prepare to gather a dozen teams for the National Team Championship, in Mountain Home, we find ourselves feeling the need to share appreciation for each of you.
Here dozens of people in your “family” share their life struggles, they find moral and spiritual support. Among a group that expresses itself daily in an unselfish manner. Spouses have lost their loved ones, children have gone before us, health struggles are shared and many times we have all come to this site for emotional support and also to vent.
There always will be those who jump online without having thought, lashing out because of some issue on their 1980’s or 200X model year boat. Over time those tenured “family” jump in and calm the emotions, assuring them that their dealer or we will do our best. And we intend to always do what we can, that hasn’t changed and won’t. Many of you place rain drops on the fire and direct them to a resolution.
Our staff is committed to enhancing each of your experiences. Allan or others often get propped up here, though many folks behind the scenes are equally important and care.
Today through this board we learn each other, we learn our families and we learn to grow together. Funny that strangers in life share here as if they were cousins, neighbors or brothers. Though it happens here frequently and the bond we share is forged stronger over time.
Recently some of our “family” has faced very difficult challenges and some have shared those on media circles with the rest of the “family”. The support and care you have all shared is so motivating, so sincere and so much what we have worked almost 50 years to live as the Bass Cat Family.
Much of this came together more and gelled when we started the Owners Invitational over 30 years ago. It became the “Family Reunion”! Though it has sprung out from there and with online media it continues to bring our culture and our sincerity into the new members of our “family”.
Today is just another day, though it’s a day when Hudson’s Grandpa (Bobby), John, Rory and more all have another bright light to direct them toward the beacon of our faith. Beacons that each of you share as points of light on a darker path and appreciation we have for the faith and care many of you express.
God’s grace continues and as fall approaches his beauty will shine like a spring morning and the colors of fall will bloom into an appreciation for his sacrifices in our path to salvation.
Many of you are making those paths easier to travel and we hope you keep doing it. Thank you for what each of you do here and make our lives all better because of it.
Have a wonderful week!
Rick
Thank you to the BassCat Team for being the best bass boat manufacturer in the business. Your customer service is second to none as is your boat quality. Thank you fellow owners and dealers for all the information we share and help we provide each other. I’m proud to be part the family.
Well said again Rick. This Forum is an excellent medium for the “Family” to stay in contact and share information among everyone who participates. It is just one more example of what it means to own a Bass Cat and be a part of the Family. I’m proud to participate and hope that I have helped someone along the way and will continue to do so.
My first cat i purchased in 89 kept the kitty till i purchased my p2 in 14. Never new about a Bcb forum back in those days. This forum has helped me many times since i became aware of it in 12. I have met Rick and had dealings with several of the bcb staff. Always courteous and very cordial. Thank you bcb for a great boat, staff, forum and customer service!
Tonight I am finialyzing my packing to head out to the National Team Championship this weekend. My partner and I luckily and skillyfully won the West Coast Owners Tournament on the California Delta back in May, and we cannot be more excited. My partner started the morning of the tournament with two stuck trebles in his hand, and still managed to land our 6.7 lb kicker in the last 5 minutes before the brisk 75mph run across Frank’s Tract to make the weigh-in on time. My Eyra and I have fished all over northern California, after I relocated her here from Missouri. She has been reliable, fast, but most of all, has the given me the freedom to enjoy the hobby that I love more than just about anything. Fishing is truly my therapy, and I would probably go crazy without it.
I have been trying to figure out what to pack on top of what I’ve already shipped out, trying to think about this mystery schedule and how we can conquer it, but most of all, I have been trying to take in what will most likely be the coolest thing that has ever happened to me in my fishing life.
I have been fishing since I was a young teen, and only this past year, as I was about to turn 40, was I able to live my dream of owning a bass boat after years of being a back seater and a float tube guy… My dad taught me how to fish in the centeral Missouri lakes, and he will be driving down just to cheer us on. He told me he was proud of me, and wished that he could have done more to help. It means a lot to know that you are treated like family, as family is so important to me. I don’t take that word lightly.
I told my partner that I was so excited and honored just to get to participate in this. I am excited to meet Rick and the Basscat team. I want to see the passion that goes into what we spend so much of our free time in. I will probably be geeking out big time.
Thanks for all that you guys do, and I cannot wait until Saturday.
Thank you Rick Pierce,
George Taylor

Well stated Rick!
Have a blessed day!
Well spoken as always. I’ve been on both sides of some of the things you explained. I’ve been nothing but taken care of by the bass cat family, Rick, Allan, and Richard and even Sherri with quest. The brand is growing at a stunning rate even in the few years that I’ve been on this page and the face book group. You can search everything from prop set ups, to tips and tricks, and my favorite is when someone finds the “mystery pod” in the bow for the registration or your extra hot foot spring. I’ve met so many people both on this board, bass boat central, and on face book. I’ve encountered many of them face to face on various lakes from discussions on certain boats or set ups, late night calls both about fishing and boats. You definitely build the best boats and in turn people will follow both that and your leadership. Thanks Rick, for not only putting us all on the water but allowing us to make to make some good friends!
Thanks Rick-it is not all about boats and fishing and business-its about family and doing the right thing to brighten someone’s day and to make the world a little better place!
Excellent post Rick , as always . — Most eloquently stated , but we could do without the advertisements that are in here . — Just my humble opinion .
That was quick !! — Advertisements are gone !! — Maybe it’s on my end somehow . — I’ll definitely investigate .
Great
Over the past 11 years I’ve made many lifelong friendships through this board. It’s great to be able to meet people at functions like the OI, etc and put names with faces. The amount of information I’ve learned on here is incredible and this board was one of the main reasons I picked Basscat.
