My very first Bass Cat was a 2005 Puma with 225 Pro XS. Bought it off a pro staffer in 2006. I ran it for a year then was fortunate enough to get on pro staff myself. After I ordered my new 2008 Cougar FTD I sold my 2005 Puma to a Military friend.
Fast Forward 11 years…my friend calls me and needs to see the boat as he is retired and moving out West.
I bought it back and now restoring it, updating it, and plan to fish out of it till my 2019 is complete. (waiting on my 4 stroke PRO XS)
Here is a video link to my You Tube page where I will be posting all the project I plan to do.
I am very blessed to be able to get a new boat every year and even more fortunate that its a Bass Cat but, not everyone has a new boat and lots of us have to upgrade our equipment or just keep our current boats running.
This video series will help all of us to maintain, repair, and upgrade our boats with best places I have found to buy the stuff, what I’ve learned over all theses years on fixing or adding equipment, and maintaining it.
Hope y’all will enjoy it and follow along.
I will post the images I have from when I bought the boat in 2006, and what it looks like now when I bought it AGAIN.
Following this. I just bought the same model year boat and upgrading as I can.

Here are a few pics of the boat when I RE-Bought it a week ago.
Everything minus the batteries were still the way I got it back in 2006.

This is great! I bought a 1988 Sabre that needs some tlc and this looks like it will be very helpful. I am looking forward to seeing the next video!
Jamey my last cat was a 2005 with the 225 was a great boat and the 225 surprised me as what it could do are you putting a250 on it. don’t remember if I showed you pic of that 1 think I showed you the 92 with the 150 super six Suzuki on it. and the 98 pIII. hope to be back on line soon still wating on old phone
Joe,
No, Im keeping this 225 on it. It only has 170hrs on it so its pretty much new. Im replacing all the fluids and checking all the seals before I crank it up and take it for a rip. I do remember the super six pics you showed me. You may get to ride in this one if I bring it up to Champlain in Sept???

Are you going to add power poles? I’m guessing if you’re 6 months out that you’ll be fishing at least part of your tournament season out of this rig?
Pretty cool story!

No plan to add any shallow water anchors at this time. If I added any it would be 8′ Talons. I like the small size, light weight of the 8′ Talons. Less speed loss and anything deeper than 8′ I usually use Spot Lock on the Ultrex.
Next Video about to drop….
