External trolling motor plug

The plug is not trolling motor specific. Is your trolling motor Ultrex and Motorguide the same voltage?

Then you should be able to connect the Ultrex to the plug the same way the Motorguide is. Is the plug round with four prongs on it?

This is what the inside of your plug looks like. To get to this loosen the two screws that hold a clamping piece where the wire enters the back of the plug and the two screws on the face of the plug. Once loosened, pull the housing up the wire. As long as the two trolling motors are the same voltage you should be able to connect the new one exactly how the old one is connected. Take note of the exact location the positive is connected. Take good notes or take a picture. You can check it with a volt meter by leaving the housing off, inserting the plug into the receptacle and putting your probes on the screws you tighten to connect the wires. One thing to add for those that maybe reading this in the future, the plug is not voltage specific. Even if the trolling motors were two different voltages (one 24 and one 36) the plug would still be wired the same. The difference would be the way the batteries are wired in the back.
