2019 Bass Cat Owners Invitational – April 25 – 27, 2019

In April, 2019 we will converge on NW Arkansas where Bassmaster held the first Bass Anglers Sportsman’s Society professional bass fishing event. A lake where 106 anglers including Ray Murski, Shorty Evans, Rayborn Waits, Carlos Mayo and more cut their mark on bass fishing heritage June 5-7, 1967.

A tentative approval and reservation is in place for the Owners Invitational.

Northwest Arkansas and Beaver Lake will be host to the 32nd annual 2019 Bass Cat Owners Invitational. The event will be held out of Prairie Creek and Rogers, AR, this is a great family atmosphere.

We will all converge on Rogers, Arkansas for registration April 25th, with event dates of the 26th and 27th. Our host will be the Rogers Lowell Chamber of Commerce, with assistance of their A&P Commission.

Crystal Bridges Museum, Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville are all handy for those families attending. The Crystal Bridges Museum will leave everyone inamazement at the contribution Alice Walton, and the Walton family, made to their home town. https://crystalbridges.org

Northwest Arkansas is one of the most prosperous areas in the world. Business headquarters are many like those of Tyson Foods, JB Hunt, WalMart, Sam’s, George’s and more all settling in this Ozark community. There are so many developing businesses around that we couldn’t name them all. And don’t miss the historic A&Q Chicken House ( https://www.aqchickenhouse.net/ ) when your around Springdale. From our Presidents on down everyone who’s anyone in NW Arkansas frequented the restaurant.

Eureka Springs is just a few minutes north on the shores of Beaver and Pea Ridge National Battlefield will give everyone a piece of our Nations history with one of the few major Ozark conflicts during the Civil War.

This is also right down the road from Belle Vista, a Cooper Community. Our friends at Cooper Communities have long been supporters of Bass Cat. Being in their home town area and seeing what Belle Vista has to offer is neat. From the golf to the lakes Belle Vista has plenty to offer.

Things are looking good and registration opens up pretty soon! Beaver is 2’ overpool and its shaping for a solid spring bite. From the river flowing out of the Ozark Boston Mountains to the clear water by the dam it should be very versatile this year.

We have expectations of about 400 boats. It requires 18 seconds average to weigh a team, another 5 to 7 seconds staging. Which means weighin requires about two hours minimum. Flights will be separated in timely fashion of 80 boats per flight and 15 minutes apart going out. Coming in that becomes 20 minutes between 80 boats.

If they all weighed, and most will day one, that’s 15 seconds a team. We need to average 23 seconds minimum to keep up. Going out an average of 7-8 seconds each will separate the boats.

We ONLY use 25 of OUR WEIGH IN BAGS for weigh in. Which keeps a long bag line and a short weigh in line for conserving fish. We will not have a long line if fish in bags without oxygen. It does get overwhelming though everyone is trying to qualify for the 25 Wild Card places with large cash awards.

We realize that many of those in the Beaver Lake event have not fished an Owners Invitational. The format today is very similar to what it has been in those 700 to 800 boat events a decade ago. Today with the Wild Cards initiated after 2008, we have seen a large number weigh on day one. That has required as much time as weighing those 700-800 boat events.
