I own a 2016 Basscat Cougar FTD with a Yamaha 250 SHO. The motor was fully serviced in lake November and is stored in an unheated garage with the motor in the down position. Up until this week, I have not observed any water dripping from the intake on the nose cone (about 8 ounces). Last week in Illinois we experienced temperatures of -26 degrees. Yesterday temperatures were in the high 40’s and I noticed water dripping from the intake. There are no signs of any cracks or gearcase fluid leaking. I tilted the motor up and a little water drained out of the intake on the nose cone. After that the water appeared to stop. I am concerned that water may have froze internally. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue in areas of the country that have extreme temperatures and if this is an issue that I should be worried about. Unfortunately I cannot put it in the water because everything is frozen.
