2018 Lynx best prop

I have a 2018 Lynx w/ Mercury ProXS 250 with 25p Fury 4 and was wondering what guys w/ a Lynx are running. My prop lost a blade that I’ve heard has happened w/ Fury 4 blade. Am looking for suggestions on a prop for a new one and a spare!!

Fury 3 so far for all around, although it handled well with a Tempest and with a Bravo 1. Looking to try a 26 Bravo, the 28 I ran was very fast with good total lift but holeshot took a while. Lynx seems to run well with some stern lift.

I’ve thrown a blade with a Fury 4, plus the performance is mediocre compared to other props.

Which engine? 2 stroke we assume with a 25” and we suggest a 25 three blade for most. The 24” might actually run pretty well also in a 3 blade if your looking for handling and hole shot.

Bass Cat Boats, The engine is a two stroke. I am more interested in handling and hole shot so will 24 be better than 25 and can you explain why since I am not that knowledgeable on props. And is a Fury 4 blade an issue?

If your after handling and hole shot going back an inch is pitch might achieve that with better efficiency. The four blade props have more surface area and thus have to work harder. The surface area is a portion of the handling achieved and a smaller surface area in similar pitch can be more responsive.

I just bought a 2018 Lynx and trying to find out the same issue of best prop. The hole shot is not good at all. The top end when I get the boat on top is incredible. I am currently running a 25P Fury. I have tried a 4-Blade Bravo1 prop and it improved just a little bit however lost 8 mph. Depending on how much gas and live wells I have the hole shot takes 10 – 15 seconds before the boat gets on plane. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Get in touch with Ronnie Gilbert in Broussard Louisiana.

He is excellent in setting up Props for BCB’s. 337-380-1437.

Give him a call. Explain to him exactly what your rig is doing and how you want it to perform. Make sure and have RPM’s during hole shot and top end. Will help him in deciding how to work the prop.

I’m running a 24p tempest plus at the moment and it’s been my favorite overall. I also run a 25 fury 4, both perform well but the tempest gains me a couple of mph.

Guys, the factory is suggesting above you drop an inch of propeller on the Lynx model. That means a 250 Pro XS would fall back to a 24” Fury three blade.
