I am asking because I am pulling the trigger on a new boat, and the dealer has down a 24 Fury for an Eyra with the 250 Pro XS 4S. I read an article by Rick about testing an Eyra with a 250 SHO and the pitch props that were used on that boat where in the 27 pitch range with even a 29 Tempest being run with good results. My old Jaguar with a 225 Opti is spinning a 25 Fury with the current owner of that boat now with no problems.
I have had props pitched as high as 30 (Bravo) on a Stroker I once owned that had a 250 Pro XS…so in my head the 24 seems to be a little small for a performance oriented hull like the Eyra with 250hp on the transom. Is the lower pitch because of the 4S engine? What would be the top end on this boat with the 24?
