I have a 2010 Jag with a 250 SHO. I wasn’t going to ask this here as it’s a limited crowd with this combo, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people here. I currently have a Yamaha vmax series 25 T-1 prop on my set up. I have had no issues, boat performs well enough for me. It (prop) is 9 years old and in need of some work. I was thinking of buying a second prop, should I look at something else? If so what? Not sure if BCB has some suggestions on other props they have sent out with this rig? I am not seeking anything earth shattering from the new prop, was just thinking since I was spending the money on a second one I may as well ask if I should consider something else. I really appreciate any thoughts and knowledge you can share.

We would think you might gain some from going to a 24 series on that setup. You would have to try one first.

We think most likely your not quite on the rev. limiter loaded down on top end. The 24 will put you closer to being on the limiter, keep the bow up at lower speeds with smaller pitch, improve hole shot and rough water operation. Top end speeds will fall empty and improve loaded we feel.

Ya’ll pretty smart! I have never even touched the limiter. Hole shot has always been pretty dang good. Top end with 2 anglers, 1 normal and 1 smaller, fully loaded (Heavy I think) usually around 71-73 with a good prop. My prop is in need of work. My partner had it 74.9 in February one time when he was alone, again before the prop got in need of work. Is there a brand you recommend. I know the Vmax SHO prop comes in a 24. Do i order a hub kit too?

It depends on if your present propeller has a hub kit. If not you will need one. The new Prop would be the T2 series in the VMax style.

So not the SHO prop? My current prop is the one BCB’s sent out with the boat originally in 2010 Vmax series 25 T1. I have no clue about the hub. I have’t touched the prop as the boat performed well from the factory.

They superseded it with a newer part and the T2.
