Humminbird upgrade at the console

I am upgrading at the console on my 2013 Cougar. Just wondering what to expect removing the old transducer cable while trying not destroy it? Hopefully it’s not fastened in with zip ties?

Just leave it in if that is a HumminBird matching Transducer and run the Y splitter for the SI and standard DI Transducer.

I’m going from a Humminbird 998 to a Helix 9… Both SI. Is it the same transducer?? That would be convenient…

They should be the same Transducer, though of course the core puck could be moisture laden and effecting coil operation.
