Helix issue

1. I purchased a new 2018 sabre ftd this year and my helix 7 console unit intermittently loses the numeric depth reading. It works for a while then either completely disappears or shows 0.1 on the screen, which then tricks the screen to think it’s that shallow. It’s done this since I bought it in February of this year and acts up on auto as well as if I change the bottom depth range. Any idea on what may be the way to fix it?

My suggestion would be to check your surface clutter settings if to low that can affect your depth readings !
Also if you have a through hull transducer you may want to check to see if it has separated from the hull !
If you have an exterior transducer has it been kissed by a stump that can affect your bottom reading !

They will suggest a new transducer, then that will often fail again and they will request the head unit. If this is a Bass Cat part then you have a 3 year Warranty from HumminBird.

First thing to do is make sure your software is up to date. Had the same problem with a Helix 7 and it fixed it.
