With the switch in the empty position, no water should enter the live well.
Three things could be causing it.
- There is trash in the valve not allowing a complete seal.
- The valve is not totally closing in the empty position. The cable can be adjusted at the valve via a small screw and clamp.
- The Switch its self is not seating in the detente when going to the empty position. You can tell this is happening when it seems the “auto” detente engages early and the empty take a lot more movement to engage, or doesn’t engage at all. This is usually caused by the nut backing off on the cable at the switch. It can be accessed by removing the switch housing.
