Same with the Cat. Weight distribution makes a difference in performance. The more weight towards the back the better. That said, there is a balance to find for what works for you while fishing (that is why we buy bass boats after all) and what works for performance wise. I want what I need handy so I’ll give up a little performance for practicality. Having all my plastics in the rear compartments helps performance of boat (2020 Caracal 225 4 stroke Merc) but certainly doesn’t make a lot of sense when I need something.
PII is a great hull with a rocket hole shot when set up right. You will enjoy it a lot and handles rough water pretty good too. When looking for info here regarding performance it will help to let us know what motor (guessing Merc), shallow anchors or not, how many electronics got hanging on the front and what trolling motor you have. Single or duel console. Lot of PII owners on here. I had the last version of the Classic which had the same hull as the PII. Lot of fun so you will enjoy after ice out. Welcome to the family and you will find lots of reliable info here (as opposed to FB page that isn’t as reliable). Do a search and check FAQ for info. It will be months before we get out on the water so lots of time to read. I bought my Classic (my first Cat) in Feb 2010 so I spent a lot of time reading before could get boat in late April. Probably the most important thing to remember is Bass Cats do not like a lot of trim. Keep under 1/4 while learning the hull which has a lot of lift built into it and you should be good. Have fun, good luck, and be safe.
Congratulations on our new rig! Oh yeah, we all like pictures so feel free to post up!
