Well after approx. 1 year of looking for the right BassCat boat and the past 4 months of hard looking I finally found a used BassCat that I am really excited about. I purchased a 2018 BassCat Caracal. Now comes the difficult part …. getting it home. It is over a 15 hour drive from my home and with limited time to get away from work and other obligations ie. daughter’s graduation, etc. it will be a bit of a challenge to get the right dates to line up.

I have been possibly considering having a boat transport company haul it to my home. The thought of someone else towing it to me however does make my stomach churn. Does anyone have any experience or advise regarding this sort of hauling service?

I used an online service called Uship to book a provider to transport a new boat from Medford, OR to Soldotna, AK thru Canada. A gal pulled it with her diesel GMC. It was pretty seamless and she picked it up at the factory and delivered it to my doorstep. That was a long haul and it wasn’t cheap though. The border was closed last summer except to some essential workers and commercial transport. Uship could be an option for you. You put in your information and providers/transporters bid on it.

There are companies who will put it on a flat bed or boat transport so you aren’t putting all those miles on your trailer. I bought used too and pulled it from east Virginia to upstate NY on hilly truck filled Interstate 81 about 7-8 hours. Good news is the trailer is so smooth with 4 wheel disc breaks that towing wasn’t as much work as expected. Was towing a 2020 Caracal.
