Hi, I own a 2000 Pantera III and have had a couple close calls almost falling out of the boat. Plus, when it gets hot here during an AR summer it’s fun to jump in and cool off. I purchased a ladder which needs to be installed in the location indicated in the attached photo. I want to do this right and use bolts with some good sized washers. Problem is, there is no access to allow me to thread on the nuts…a shelf exists just below the bumper rail line that prevents me from reaching this area.
As my pic indicates, I’d like to use a hole saw to create an access port that will be sealed up with MDF board. I need someone with knowledge of that part of the boat to tell me if this is structurally OK. Any warnings or advice would be appreciated.
I’d rather do this than spend $300 on a custom ladder.
Thanks
