I posted this over on BBC, but thought I better come to the source! I contacted BCB and they did not have a wiring diagram. They did send the wire color codes which will be helpful. Can anyone give me a sketch of how the master power switch, push button breakers, etc. on a 2002 Cougar are wired? I have a strange situation going on. If I remove the wires that are connected to the bottom pin (the load) of the master power switch I can turn on master power and I have 12v. As soon as I try to connect the wires to the bottom pin, the light on the switch goes out and I no longer have 12v coming from the battery.
I can check voltage at the breaker on the battery and I have 12v on both sides of it, even when I no longer have 12v at the switch. If I turn off the switch, disconnect the load, and wait a few minutes, 12v will return to the switch. Its almost like there is a fusible link in the power wire that is going bad. I have cleaned all the connections at the bus bar that is mounted on the transom as well.
