Hi, My fender clearance on my 23 Cougar trailer is really high. From the tires to the bottom of the fender is 5 3/4 inches and that is loaded with fuel tackle etc. I have checked other new 23 trailers and they all are much lower and the struts that attach the frame to the wheel are more parelall to the ground. Dealer is not sure what the issue is. This makes it hard to launch on flat ramps and the ride is really stiff. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.
You can drop the arms one or two teeth on the axles splined spindles. They control the height for back clearance on the fenders and tires and this particular trailer looks like those today.
Talked to Jared at Bass Cat and he consulted with the trailer manager and they came to the conclusion that the arms were set at 30 degrees for 18 inch wheels and since I have 15 inch thus the increased fender height. The arms should be set at 20 degrees.
