I have a 08 p2 and it has mercury switches, there a grey plastic knob under each lidbasscat24

Look at where the metal angle piece would hit the fiberglass and you will see a small black round push type switch.

The angle peice falls into the hollow opening of the box. I was thinking this piece was the mercury switch it has a wire hooked directly into the bottom of it.

The flashing generally indicates an open switch in the system when the Security System is attempting to be set. It is either an open circuit or a faulty touch pad, usually an open circuit. So one of the box switches is probably not working. BCB

Had something simular on my 08 P4, it was the round touch pad.

They are a constant loop, thus schematics serve no purpose. Please contact Bobby or Stuart next week and get them to go over this with you.

Thye should shut off in five or ten minutes unless you have a power switch on. If you only have the light option and no Security Syste, or only the push button side panel SS, then they will remain on. The only systems that are on a shut down are those through a computer of some sort.

Those are not a BCB item And must be an aftermarket install from a home store.
