<p>So next step I suppose is to pull sending unit and check guage response with manual movement of float. How difficult is it to remove and will a new gasket be needed if it seems good? However, I think mine is only leaking when the tank is fairly full and gets under pressure. <p>Boat is kept at lake 70 miles away so I only have a chance to work on it once each week. Ran the tank close to empty 3 weeks ago and have been running only on starboard tank since.</p>

If you can get compression test done and show consistent and good readings (110-120) on all cylinders, that should help move it more quickly. Age of batteries and condition of seats and tires may also be questioned.</p>
