I know people want to see a review of the new STS model, but that isn’t what I purchased.  I do know the Caracal SP is a fantastic boat with unique features that will keep it a great-selling boat.

Here is where the typo is:

Approximate Storage Length:
Engine trimmed down – 25’9″
Engine trimmed down, Tongue Swung – 2′

That last number is the typo and is critically important when selecting between the Caracal STS and SP.  The gating factor of me even looking at Bass Cat was the Caracal and its Storage length.

On my 6th time out with my new Caracal/Merc the HotFoot is sticking at full throttle. I also have a Bob’s Jackplate.

The dealer is 6.5 hours away so taking it there for this issue isn’t an option.

What should I check and try before I take it to my local trusted Merc shop?

I’m a new 2023 Caracal owner. The lights flashing is a feature not a bug. The system is trying to alert you that there is a lid open. A power off and on will reset the alert.

Not sure why this alert works the way it does. If you have a hatch open, I would assume it would be obvious.  If you had a hatch ajar, but mostly closed, how would…Read more

I have the basic net with telescoping handle.  After a lot of experimenting I’ve found just putting vertical against the outside of the  co’s little rod locker with handle out just enough the back the bungy designed for co’s rods catches the handle.  Simple and easy access.  It works for me anyway.

I’m ordering a white Caracal with purple bolts, sapphire accents, and Mica Mist carpet.  I’m doing that because I live in AZ, and everything gets hot in the blazing sun. Also, I’m not too fond of gray, as everybody has that color.  I had tan carpet in a 2004 Trition and loved it.
