Can you ask her the brand on it? Guessing Pro Pak but not sure on yours. On the pro paks, if there is a problem, the lights will flash red and green…..this tells you a lead is loose, not connected or backwards. Even if it senses bad cells or whatever, the charger tells you that by flashing red and green. If no lights at all and in the garage…..maybe the GFI on that outlet popped and needs to be reset. Guessing a plug issue because again, the Pro Pak flashes if something is wrong. All that said, there is no reset switch on a pro pak that Im aware of up to 2007 but there are fuses on each red output from the charger by the battery – 10 amp. From the Pro Pak manual: “No lights when AC power is plugged in”: – check for ac loss at source and through any extension cables/disconnect ac power and check all charging leads for proper polarity and ensure all are tight at the battery/no loose connections. Batterys will not charge if one of the following exists – loose or corroded charging lead or battery terminal connections – charging leads connected backwards – charging leads not connected or loose – ac power not connected or gfi circuit tripped at source – battery has defective cell (or in your case, all 3 which is unlikely)
DKees, Well Well Well, been having a rough hitch out this time and couldnt get my thinking cap on. Between this and that, i just couldnt collect my thoughts. You are correct, its a Pro Pack and as i can remember after you saying it, the lights will tell you when something is wrong. No lights, No juice. Damn woman should have known that, ha ha. Think she is trying to fool me into thinking somethings wrong with my cat and not go fishing. Well i guess im going have to let her know if she cannot maintain my cat better, then im going to have to make some changes. Just got her where she can change my u-joints and tie rods on my truck. Thanks for the info and the brain check.
Dream on! Someone slap Iceman and wake him up!
Been there done that iceman! I think youre on to something!
Been there done that? Have your wife do the upkeep on your ride?! I prefer to do the work myself and keep her on the deck. Watching her cast and curse to herself is HOT! Top Water Reels
does any one have a extra or want to sell a 3 or 4 bank charger
You will find many posts on this topic. It is suggested you swap leads, or charge that battery with a manual charger and see if the charger comes back after the charge session. The issue could be a low voltage or faulty issue with your cranking battery. If these do not help, then you may be looking at a new charger. BCB
I have a 2000 Cougar with a 3 bank Cul-m-rite charger and it did the same thing until I had one trolling battery completely dead. the cul-m-rite would not pull the battery back up from all way down and kept blowing inline fuse. A stand alone charger brought the battery back up and then the on board would still not charge that battery even with a good fuse. I am going to replace it. Mike
Forgot to add that one of the banks is going out. I dont see that charger on the net anywhere
Noco genius is what BCB has been using. You can request on order 2,3,4 bank charger. I am also sure that if you have a different brand in mind that they can get it for you.
With all the drain put on cranking batteries today, I would definitely recommend a 3 bank charger. You want to be sure all your batteries are fully charged every time you go fishing. And, if you are currently running a 24 series cranking battery, this would be a good time to go ahead and upgrade it to a 27 or better yet, a 30 series AGM.You are going to be in the sump working anyway–might as well get it right all at the same time.Mike Whitten/Germantown, TN
Dont buy a Genius 3 bank, mine screwed up my batteries.I went back to using a digital charger.
3 bank, and at least 10 amps per bank.
I have a used 3 bank “charge on the run” unit that came off my Jag. $125 shipped if youre interested. Im only on this board sporadically so reach me on BBC
