Joe, Get those holes glassed up solid with a liberal amount of fiberglass thickness, and remount them with urethane instead of Silicone. BBC

I brought the boat up there yesterday and Mr. Bobby Copeland is doing the repairs, and I showed it to him so I am sure it will be repaired right. Thanks for the urethane suggestion. I will definitely be sure to do that!

What charger are you using for your Optimas? I hear horror stories that the onboard chargers will not charge the batteries to full capacity. I have the Cul M Rite charger in my Cougar FTD.

I have never had a problem charging Optima. Been using them for ten years.

On board charger I am using a Minn Kota 330. I know they make a portable as well. No problems with the Optimas or the charger here.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

Ive seen the Schumaker at WalMart recently. Ive used them before. Never used the MK portable, just know its available.However Sam and I know the big MK onboards Rock!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner

Hi pantera123, I noticed your question and wanted to offer some assistance. All Optima batteries are Spiralcell, lead-acid, AGM batteries. They are definitely not gel batteries and any chargers with “gel” or “gel/AGM” settings should be avoided. Normal lead-acid battery chargers willl work fine on Optimas under normal conditions, but the best chargers for Optimas are microprocessor-controlled and offer specific settings for AGM batteries. Is there a special battery charger for Gel type batteries, such as optima batteries? My 3 bank pro charger quit working and since then I purchased 3 blue top optima batteries. Any comments are welcomed!

Weight is power in batteries. Spiral cell Technology is not something we are fond of.

I run group 31 blue top for crank an electronics in 2 different boats which also was on a 3 battery 36 system. I fished all day with live wells going an in current an never was short on juice. I went with 4 battery on last couple boats and regularly get low on crank power in same situation .( different brand battery)
