It is probably water in the fuel. You should remove the lower sensor in the canister, and drain the filter into a cup. Then you will see what comes out of the filter, and replace the sensor. There is a wire on the sensor that unplugs on this model, and this canister filter is located on the right hand side of the engine. BCB
Sorry, I meant to say oil injection instead of fuel injection, I did drain the fuel filter because thats what I thought it was.
Check the oil in the reservoir on the engine, beeping is either fuel or oil. If the level is good, and the cap is your next question. Jump the cap wires to verify the cap is working, then move on to your dealership. BCB
Yep, check the wiring on the oil reservoir cap. My cap wiring was twisted pretty tight and over the years vibration wore through the insulation and my alarm went off. I replaced the cap (not cheap) and made sure the wires arent twisted so tight. Also, there is a red led at the bottom of your air box at the front of the motor. Check to see if it is lit when the alarm goes off, if it is then the water alarm is the culprit. Unplug the water sensor and try again, if the alarm continues to sound and the let is lit then its deeper than operator maintenance and needs to see a dealer. If the light is out and the oil reservoir cap is ok then again, it needs to see a dealer. Hope its a simple fix…

Post this question on http://www.bassboatcentral.com in the Mercury forum. They answer you right away. Most of the folks here are busy with the OI, (I think) Sheff
thanks sheff
Just took out the 2007 200 Opti from the shed and hook up the earplugs and ran it for a short while when the alarm went off. Turned it off thinking that it needs more water coming into it than the water hose can give. Would this be normal if you ran it for a long time. I know this is not the best way but I was doing this every month or so waiting for hunting season to get over.
What year model engine? The psi at idle sounds okay should be at least 14+ when running. What is “7000s”.. …the 5800rpms do not sound bad. Did you get a temperature reading on the engine? Was the stream of water coming out of the engine? If you fish LR pool of the River, best place to get checked is H2O Sportz in Sherwood. Good luck!96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
95 merc. 7000 was the rpms it was running. There was water coming out when running but not while idiling. I dont know where to see temp reading for engine.
Sounds like you have plenty going on and we would sure let someone check it out. We suspect something electrical>? BCB
Do you have a temp gauge or BP super dash on the console? What boat? 7k rpms is screaming! Make sure you have plenty of oil. Get it checked by a technician……….96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Are you sure theres not one there already? Or are you asking if an after market alarm can be added? If I were you I would check the manuals that are posted on the board just to see if your boat already has the alarm. Just a thought, but its still early…. If all else fails give Bobby or Scott a call. georgeGeorge
It was not standard on all models, as this was prior probably to the touch pad assembly that has that software. The system can be added and just call Service for some help. BCB
Did you tape off the nose cone inlets? If not you need to when running it on a flushy…
