I TRIED THE OPTIMAS SOME YEARS AGO . NOT HAPPY ! RUN TIME WAS A PROBLEM . IF THE MONEY AND WEIGHT IS NOT A PROBLEM ODDSEY , SEARS PLT31 , EXIDE MEGACYCLE . ON A 24V SYSTEM LARGER IS BETTER . SOME OTHERS WILL DISAGREE .
A search of this forum will even produce an old battery list we once presented mentioning this, and dozen of other similar posts. The AGM batteries are in our opinion the best you can run if they are conventional cased batteries. We also are not fans of the spiral cell technology such as the particular style mentioned above, which is spiral cell technology. We have time and time again stated that Sears Platinum 31 Die Hard batteries are easy to get, easy to warranty and worth the cost. Trojan, Full River, oddessy and other brands have similar AGM batteries. The answer to batteries is weight, if they weigh more they are almost always better.
Will the Sears PM-2 34M batteries work properly for the same application? They are 53 pounds each vs the 75 of the PM-1. Also not a lot room in my bilge to expand to larger batteries. My P3 has dual powerpole pumps in the bilge as well.
I run the biggest Optimas on my 1996 Eyra that I can get for trolling. I use an MK 80 Maxxum. They do just fine for my applications. Im on my second set, first set lasted 6.5 years. Also run an Exide Megacycle AGM for the starting battery. Basically comes down to your needs and style of fishing. If you fish lots of current, windy areas, or often, then AGM is a great choice. There are other brands out there. But Ive not had issues with Optimas.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
I have a PM-1for my cranking battery. Love that battery. However just dont want two more of that size weighing down the back of my boat.
We are not familiar with that battery.

Love AGM batteries.Ive had D27M Optimas in my Sabre FTD for 4+ years now and still going strong. Love them. Never a minutes problem. Theyll power my MG Tour 82 all day and recharge in no time.
I have been running Optima yellow top for troll motor since 1999. I have never had one last less than 6 years.I use a lot of battery in a day and have never run them down. I have used them with 24 volt brute, 24 volt Maxxum and 36 volt Maxxum. They are expensive but so are all good batteries now days. I would not use blue top for troll motor.

On mine (its an older model but it still may be done the same way), the in-line breakers are the little gray boxes. There should be a small black tab at the base, which is the reset. I would check those first.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Man, we gotta have a year model to now what system you have. Voltage of troller and more to help.

Age of batteries? Wet cell or AGM? If wet cell have you checked their water levels and maintained them regularly? Also take a direct reading via voltmeter, with the troller on, and off, check each individual battery. Then do the same with the charger plugged in, and check each battery, with charger plugged in you should show close to 13.3-14.2 while charging, anything less is generally a bad battery. With charger disconnected you should get 12.1-12.7 on each battery, though checking them without a load can be misleading from time to time.
Alright, a 2008 has a two wire system, thus we dont think a circuit breaker is blown though may be worn and reduce amperage. The batteries could just be down and an inexpensive voltmeter would tell you each batteries actual level of charge. If one were down then you would know now. Check them right after a charge and see that they are above 12 volts. Batteries sitting after a charge should be 12.8 to 13.2 volts after 30 minutes sitting static. Thats charged and left alone for 30 minutes. If they are not at least 12.4 after sitting you have battery issues. If they are not charging to 12 volts then you need to determine whether its a charger or battery issue. If one battery is not charging then rotate the charge leads and see of the situation changes to another battery, or hot charge that battery with a stand alone 12 volt charger and assess the level of charge as discussed above. Be absolutely sure that you checked your connections and water in the batteries. Sears has a nice little voltmeter on sale right now if you dont have one.
