I no a couple guys on here have the new lower unit ? Whats the deal loss of speed ? What prop does it like hows the hole shot with the different ratio ? Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks
We dont know from experience yet on the case. We know what we have been told, though prefer to know on our product up close.
Im up to a 28 trophy and 27 Fury and am getting close. 74 mph at the rev limit with a littl throttle left. Ive recently made some motor heigh adjustments and havent had time to water test it. Ill let you know what I find out. What boat are you running it on?
2008 cougar duel con with 08 HO manual jack and it will run 78 – 81 all loads and conditions
I guess I did not see you guys were discussing this right below here . Is that really the only cat running around with that lower unit ? Sounds like a bit of trouble getting prop right ?
Madgaffer, Denny Rhead on here Bigbass225 just picked up his 2011 BCB Puma FTD with the Highly Anticipated 2011 Evinrude 250 HO with Magnum SLE case and 1:85.1 Gears, he was running about 78 FULLY LOADED with 2 guys, ALL gear, Full Fuel last year with a 250 HO and 1:71.1 gears and Fury prop…I know of another brand that has seen some Terrific #s, losing on top 1mph but a BLISTERING hole shot that will Wake Up some of the competitors, Hopefully Denny can Video hole shot and Speeds, Hear that Denny!!!!!
Homan what prop setup etc. ?Some details would help ? Love to get some insight , I thought I heard denny talking bout how he dumped BRP for yamaha or something like that ?
Maybe if Denny cant keep us abreast of the HO Magnum SLE gear case (1.85 gears) you can??? I get tired of talking to Ward about BRP!
Phil play nice!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Denny is suppossed to run his boat next weekend . He is tryin to get it setup now. Proppin it will be a little more of a challenge i think but he is coming to south louisiana next monthand if my shoulder is semi healed where i can use my arm just a little bit we gonna meet up. i am sure between his prop collection and mine we can find something to make it work. If I see it has some serious muscle i will break out my 30 asx and let him play with it. I personally believe this L/U gonna be a couple mph slower. The reason i say that is the gear ratio making you run bigger props probably gonna see more slip but if they hold together it will be an improvement. Denny if you read this i am still gonna pass you in XKITTY!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you Rattlin those Percs and Whiskey this AM, everyone knows the HOs are the best!!!!! Fastest, Never break, ….Im truly intrigued on what Denny says, hes a straight shooter on info, maybe it will Beat the 2008 #s!!!!! 82 or 83.1????
There is a plastic ring that you can get for the trophy that slides on the prop to fill that 1/4 inch gap:
Yes you need a diffuser ring to contain the exhaust.
Bass Cat Boats wrote: BRP has many reasons they redesigned the case. BCB is right about being many reasons BRP changes the case. Water pressure was a problem (mainly on Rangers), the SLE is suppose to be a lot better in grass as well. Another reason is some people overpropped their Lightening 2 and were having problems with holeshot. If we can find the right prop and get our top end comparable to te lightening or at least close then brp will have the most durable all around case on the market in my opinion. The main reason they changed the case though was because they lost their A$$ on warranty claims.Last edited by KennyPowers2 on May 23rd, 2011, 2:05 am, edited 2 times in total. You knowThis whole time I thought you were a whore with a heart of gold, instead your just a whore with a regular whores heart.” – Kenny Powers
For a bit of input on the gear case, we suggested that BRP not redesign the gear case many years ago, back when the case was on R&D for the new style nose cone series. The previous case worked very well up into the 80s we felt.
which case are you saying you didnt want them to come out with? You knowThis whole time I thought you were a whore with a heart of gold, instead your just a whore with a regular whores heart.” – Kenny Powers
