My 28 trophy runs great on the cougar with the ring and 2 flo torque plugs in. hole shot is about 3 seconds. My prop has been worked a bit, but you should be close if you add the ring and plug a hole or two.
A 6 sec holeshot with a 28 txp isnt gonna be 6 sec for very long. Will be much hotter soon and that holeshot much slower in mississipi and arkansas.C.O.D. Jr. III
I hit 80 yesterday. Because Ive been getting touch rpm and not enough lift. I decided to try trimming the motor Up past 0 trim and then I gave it more throttle. I wasnt able to push the peddle all the way down but I think I was able o get more lift this way. The gear case is calling for a 29 or 30 pitch. My next set up is going to be a 29 or 30 pitch with the jack plate at 2 1/4 bellow pad.
