Ordered a new Lynx on September 21, 2021. when will this boat be completed? Have asked for multiple updates from dealer with no answers. Can you bass cat guys answer this or message me for additional info, as I am about to get a refund on my deposit as the promised delivery is way passed and go to a Phoenix or something else because this is not the usual basscat customer service. I want answers on delivery when I’m spending 90k+ on a boat.
Thanks in advance
I ordered my Puma STS on 8/3rd, we had a few questions from the factory on the order so my guess is it went into the que about 8/13th or so. I picked my new boat up the 18th so that is almost exactly 7 months. I know they move orders around a little based on availability of molds, equipment, motors, etc…. so I would not be surprised if yours is a little ahead or behind my timeline. I know the wait is difficult but this new boat is AMAZING and well worth the wait. Everything was just as I ordered it and build quality is perfect. Starting the break-in this weekend and will post pictures and feedback then but you will not regret the wait, nothing like a Cat.
Please contact your dealership as they are our first customer and our business affiliate. The Factory RSM’s (Regional Sales Managers) have all the details and they are intended to be in communication on delivery status of product. They should have communicated to your dealer the status on your boat order. Each RSM has their full 2022 production schedule dates and we feel that has been conveyed to the dealership.
While presently we are building mostly Retail Sold orders, the list was long. There is no denying our backlog has been deep and we have been clear on the wait times with this backlog. Both Bass Cat and Yar-Craft brands have gained momentum for several reasons. Our dealers have received more boats and we have built more, and we want to improve production beyond that. No doubt these times have challenged that effort.
Again, please reach out to your dealership and they should have that answer within a few hours. Pending there is not a part delay, it should be in transit soon.
We apologize that this information has lagged and not been conveyed. We know the season is upon us and we are constantly having these questions in house and we fully understand the anticipation.

I ordered a eyra on July 26 2021 still no word all I get is a run around from my dealer and my RSM! Very frustrating to say the least I see all these other BassCat owners who ordered after me getting their boats. I realize the supply chain issues are difficult but how is it all these other people ordered after me have received their boats? I’ll I want is proper communication with answers still nothing! All I get is this week it’s seats then motors now it’s battery charger’s . BassCat owes its customers answer’s not the run around!

I ordered mine last. My biggest fear is all of these delays and I am starting to get a little anxious about it. I understand the supply issues. But I just want BCB to communicate with me better. I’m not at the point where I’m going to back out yet. I got a friend of mine who’s in a similar situation and he is seeing delays. In fact, his order was definitely pushed back behind other orders that I know were ordered after his.
It seems to me, BCB can do a much better job with their communication. These build dates appear to be a random dates BCB is throwing out there to the customer. If it gets worse I will back out.
Guys, we have communication to the dealerships and that method is our conduit.
Unfortunately we don’t have an automated system like Ford F 150’s line, where emails inform you along the path. It’s better than another company we are waiting 11 months on a truck from though, so we understand.
We do have full visibility to the RSM’s and they can convey to the dealerships.

I hit a deer with my new 2021 ford f-150. Due to the microchip shortage, Ford stopped producing which included fenders back in October which are proprietary to only use on the 2021 model. The part was on backorder for 4 months. I was without that truck 4 months waiting on a new fender. Thankfully I finally got it completed!

How is this even relevant to the topic???
Relevant to supply chain problems that are affecting every industry!
I know it must suck, but you need to take a step back from BCB. I can assure you that as my first boat and working with them, they will do all they can. But this issue of supply issues started in 2020 and after the past year you should see that from ordering a boat that it is going to get worse. Have you tried to order anything Humminbird? Doesn’t exist. I am trying to get mega live and can’t find it and I seriously started noticing this last fall. BCB isn’t a reseller like TackleWarehouse. I know they would build everyting they can as long as material is available. The other thing is they are a smaller shop and hand make their boats. Not many American Made companies left. My money always goes to “American Made”.
Again I know it sucks, but you will like your boat a lot. You do your research and you will find that Ric does a lot on these boats that nobody else does. They build boats to last a life time.
BCB, with due respect, these customers are telling you that the Dealer and the RSM are not giving them pertinent information. ie… no real answers to the questions. Referring the back to dealers and RSM just puts them in the same circle of nothing.
How about finding out why dealers and RSMs are not giving real answers to someone spending 90k on a boat?
Rich 12, of course that is what is occurring. The RSM’s and Sales Director have been in ongoing discussion on the information chain. Things do change almost daily that effect various parts or models, and products are frequently delayed on delivery.
The engines we managed to get released for May delivery were slated for delivery in September to November of 2021, and ordered almost 12 months prior.
Weekly and daily we have discussions about informing consumers. With the change in anticipated delivery dates, it seems some dealers are resistant to convey continual changing delivery dates. Thus we have suggested relaying the anticipated production as if it were a range of April 15 to June 15, as an example. Give everyone some room from shortest to what it could be. If it’s shorter than most won’t mind a sooner delivery date

Rick, BCB, I dont really care who you are posting as. You should be listening to direct customer feedback, this is a good business practice, and your getting it for free. Boat WRX in Missouri has not told me anything for 7 MONTHS! I live in the Houston area and went with this dealer because they told me they a had a build slot that would be here around Christmas delivery. Dealers are your conduit but not your customers, that’s bull shit. Go sell that to someone else. Last time I checked dealers don’t purchase and hang on to boats, customers like me buy the boats. Without customers, you have no dealer network. If yall need consulting on how to run a business and lean manufacturing practices and techniques, I do it for a living, just let me know. This is not how you run a business. Update people on delivery windows, it is acceptable for them to move based on the covid economy, as it is a facet of life right now. NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL IS UNACCEPTABLE! I fully expect you to address your dealer I have mentioned by name and ask them why they are not communicating with YOUR customers as they sell other brands of boats and you are saying they are your customer. Either the RSM sucks, or the dealership sucks, either way they are associated with Basscat. You should want to fix that problem that has resulted in a complaint that will reach tens of thousands of people who search forums on where to get info for their next boat purchase.
I wanted to clear this up a little better and give an update as I told the RSM I would. I got a phone call from Mr. Jack from basscat with an update, extremely nice and informative. He gave me an update on just about everything he could. I wanted to clarify, the frustration was not about delivery. I work in industry and know about the supply chain issues. My expectation was of communication, and it was high, as I just bought a jeep wrangler I waited 7 months for and got an update every 2 weeks. I understand manufacturers not wanting to give firm dates in case they slip on production times, this is where us as consumers have to be flexible in today’s time. I went with Basscat because of the build quality and customer service I was used to with my 2013. I am sure it is hard to keep up with all the customers and build times, especially when backed up, and I don’t expect an automated system like jeep. Maybe a monthly phone call from the RSM’s would be good without overloading the RSM’s? Overall communication has been established and now I can check on progress with Mr. Jack.
To sum it up, you needed baby powder. Got it….
At the end of the day the boat will be delivered the same as it was last week. you fully know that it has nothing to do with basscat, you have stated more than once you know about the issues facing America. Even when you “ordered” you jeepy you were able to watch it all come out the birth canal. But instead of being understanding you need some powder. I do agree with you, I don’t care for dealer’s at all, but seriously you knew captain obvious was the state of the country.
