Posted this on BBC as well:I have a 2003 PIV, I bought it last year and have felt like the seats sit low from the first day I got it. I had owned a 08 Puma and sold it but that one did not sit this low. I also have the regular issue of the seats slightly blocking the back compartments when I try to open them. I also face the issue that the rubber grommets that hold the seats to the fiberglass (the removable gas cover). I cant find anything to keep the seats secure to the bottom. I got them secure on the seat back.I know I can buy new seats but that is $750 and I am not putting in after markets. Also these seats look pretty good still with only a few minor issues.So has anyone raised their seats? Thought I would use a piece of HDPE white board so it matches the white fiberglass. Thought I would get them up at least a 1/2″ maybe 3/4″.Has anyone tried to reinforce the seat backs so they dont lean so far back and block the compartments? Wondered about putting a 1/4″ thick piece of material behind the seat back forcing it forward.Thoughts?
