Yesterday on the way back to the ramp my boat had a strange issue where the mater power would go out and then flicker back on for a few seconds and then go out again… ultimately it never came on. Also, the tachometer, which normally works even if the master power is not on, was not working. The battery gauge would go off as if the ignition key was turned off. Also my HDS at the helm also shut off too. Any idea on where I should start? Ground wire? Also I didnt see any sort of wiring diagram on the A-10 page/link. Will the wiring diagrams on some of the older units apply to the A-10?

Also, one thing I forgot to mention. The boat was doing the following in the afternoon when I got home yesterday as well as this morning: When you flip the master power switch, the light comes on but it is not as bright as it normally is, and no light for the fuel tank comes on on the A-Ten and none of the instruments work. Oh, and the livewell controls by the master power switch (pump water in/out) do not work either. If the key is in the ignition and turned on (not all the way to actually start the motor, but to get the gauges going and hear the beep) the master power switch light does not come on….

I would check the junction box in the back of the boat inside on the transome sound like a connection problem.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Also carefully check the battery connections, terminal connectors have been know to loosen up and the wire looks like its connected but is loose.Specifically the positive and ground wires from the battery to the terminal block. Grab them and yank, you may be surprised. Intermittent problems during operations are often loose connections. Even when the connector itself is snugly fastened down.On the terminal block it is possible for a fully secured wire to break most of its strands. Check carefully.Funny how when someone is troubleshooting we chime in with our own experiences, which may not be the problem at all. I had a Yamaha exhaust cover bolt back out and work its way to the front and jam the rearward movement of the shift rod. One day a forum question popped up that suddenly a guy couldnt shift into forward gear. I told him what to look for, it was the same as mine. I felt like a hero, for at least a minute.
