Asked this on the BBC, but thought I would ask here also. My Caracal had a seat base receiver in the floor so you could take the front pole down while running. Would like to add one to the 05 Puma. Is the area of the floor directly behind the stepup/storage/ice chest hollow underneath so a hole could be drilled to mount the seat base. dont wanna drill into something I need.thanksJones Trolling Motor Services870 773 3474Motorguide/MinnKota/PowerPole/Lowrance/Humminbird

you can expect mid 70s depending on load and water conditions.

We are more conservative and say 68 to 73 loaded.

Lot of variations with 225 Pro XS. Some are low 70s at best as BCB points out. Others are capable of mid 70s and above.

I had an 06CougarFTD with a 225 Optimax. (not proxs) The best I could do was 72mph. Sgt93 has an 07 with a 225 Opti, his will run around 74. So as Phil said and BCB said, it does seem to vary, probably on load and the driver.

I had an 05 Puma with 225 Pro XS. Loaded in the summer it would run 70-71, the rest of the year it would run 73-74. I ran a 26 Trophy until a blade cracked. I ran a 26 Tempest after that. The speeds were basically the same. The Tempest was about half a mph faster and made loading on the trailer a lot easier. I had the boat for 2 years and I only hit 75 two times. Both times I was by myself and running low on gas. When I had the boat, I really wished that I would have gotten one with a 250.
