I just recently bought a used 06 cougar. I noticed this weekend while taking it out that the bilge pump and recirculate pump were not working. I have heard that some ppl are having trouble with the touch panel. Does anyone know what could be going on?

Lots to read on the search by in the frequently asked questions section.I found one of the pumps that was working and disconnected the wires and then hooked them up to the one that did not work. If it still does not work, I know it is the pump. Mine had the removable cartridge so it was easy to swap. I just replaced 2 on my Puma which is an 06 as well. I also had a bad bilge pump. The float switch was stuck so when it was on automatic, the light would light up but pump would not run. Replaced it witha a flaot that there is a ball inside. When the water rises, the ball rolls back and makes the connections. Water drops and ball rolls back.Not sure if that helps or notJohn

Since the touch panel is not able to have a simple switch added they do occasionally require replacement. Try replacing the cartridges first by using a bilge that works are swapping it for one that doesnt. Since the bilge is a common circuit we think it is a pump, if one works. On the aerator you can also switch those for a cartridge that works and see if the bad one works in a recirulator or elsewhere. DO NOT go directly to a battery to check operation as they have no protection on a circuit there as they may function hard wired, and be outside operating limits. First place to check if you are not getting power to the pumps is the terminal block on the transom and verify all grounds are operating on the system. Last thing to eliminate is the ATen touch pad. There are thousands of these in operation in several versions and they have over 10 years of history on them panels with fairly limited issues. We really seldom sell one when you compute the age and number that is out there. BCB
