06 Cougar Tandem Axle Repair

Ill be following this because I just did the same including new leaf springs on my 04 Cougar and also had a slight alignment problem. Since I was able to snug it all up, I just went ahead with it, but I was wondering if there was something wrong or something else I should have done.

We think realigning the springs but loosening the bolts is your best option. Over time its hard to say what your facing.

I’ll have to look for the size. I know I had measured mine and they had flattened some so they measured longer than what I ordered. I also got 6 leafs instead of the 4 that were on it. I believe I got springs rated for 3500lbs. According to the specs a Cougar Advantage is around 1800lbs, so I figured with all my gear I should still not come close to 3500lbs. I’ve only used it once since and that was only a 2 mile trip back from the ramp after putting my boat back on the trailer after completing the work. It was definitey quieter with all the new bushings in place.
