06 Pat IV Rod Storage Boxes

Been looking around this site and I am not able to find someone talking about the length of the rod boxes on a 06 Pat IV. 1 – Total length inside the rod box? 2 – All carpeted? 3 – Boxes have rod tip holes or do rods lay flat? 4 – Max rod length that can fit into rod box? 5 – Number of rods box supports? Sorry, if this question has been already asked… Looking to purchase one, but a friend is telling me I may have a problem in the boxes being too small?? I dont know if it will help you, I have a 05 Classic and mine is all carpet and it holds about 6 rods with the rod holes in the box. I dont have any trouble putting in 7 rods. I was also able to put about 10 rods in mine and could have put more if needed, I was careful how I put them in. Hope this helps! Billy

Carpet is an option- mine is. I have rod tip holes I believe 6 or 7. Space beneath rod tip holders will hold more rodsMax number of rods…gosh I would guess I could lay 6 or 7 in the holes and could easily lay another 6 or 7 or 8 beneath them. I personally keep rods on the deck a lot so I use this intermittently.My 76″ hydrilla gorilla fits fine.The big thing that affects ability to slide rods in is a second console. Second console means I put the 76″ rods on the floor of the box so the tip slides in at an angle that keeps the butt of the rod above the 2nd console windshield. C.O.D. Jr. III

If your rods wont fit,,,,,well, theyre too long ! The P4 will handle any rod i own, including the 73″ models without any issues, and the 7ers will fit even in the outside of the organizer with some finesse ! the P4 also has abundant storage for all your tackle to boot ! Youll love the boat ! The only negative of the model is with the second console it can be a bit laborious to load the organizer on the port side, without the second console its not a problem, and the boxes can hold more rods than most can afford( I carry around twenty rods, and could carry about that many more !))D.

allbright, ward, dbasketman,thanks for your replies. i did not think it was a problem what so ever. satisfaction will be looking at my friends face, when i pull up to the next club tourney.

Their perception has more to do with the door openings. The boxes are plenty long, though the openings are tighter than larger boats.

Theyre plenty long, but I found I needed to use rod socks. With the rods wraped, they slide in perfectly (dont let your mind go there, Im on a business trip away from my wife so it might be affecting my thought process–lol). Honestly, I was having problems before I did this. I have an 07 P-2.
