06 Puma 250 HPDI

Any one running a 250 HPDI using a 27T1 Prop on a Puma? If so how is it working for you? I have a 25T1 and getting 72-74 MPH GPS but there are times I am still all over my rev limiter. Thinking of going to a 27T1 but I dont want to make an expensive mistake. Thanks!

I also am running a 250HPDI w/27 T-1 at 80+ on my Puma but its an 08. Around 58-5900 rpms

I have an 07 Puma with a 250HPDI. I have 27T1 on the way. Hopefully Ill see similar numbers. You guys running Hydro jack plates or manual?

Ive got an 06 Puma with a 250 HPDI with the T1 also, I cant get over 73 with it for some reason, can only get 5700 RPMs. DOG out of the hole also. Ive got a Hyd plate too. for you guys running over 80, can you explain your set up please. I have had 3, 20 footers and this one is by far slower than the others . I am running EXTREMELY light also. Thanks,

Im running a maual plate, I will try and get some measurements. I just raised the motor till I got torque in the wheel and began losing lift then backed it down in 3/4″ increments.

Tweaking should be done in 1/4″ to 3/8″ increments loaded. Not 3/4″ at a time. That is too much variance.

I got my 27T1 in the other day and ran it for the first time. I was pleased with the top end, but I agree with qmowry, it is a dog out of the hole. My hole shot was much better with my 25T1. So, how do I get the magical “best of both worlds”?

08 Puma 250 Hammer Series 2 Running 25T1 Gave up on the best of both worlds, like the hole shot, rough water control, no cavatation ever on turns or hole shot. Best speed in 75 degree water is 70 MPH Gps. More worried now about getting the carpet dirty with all the LMB we have been catching @ Amistad. Concentrate on the fish.

If I remember correctly my 06 Puma with the 250HPDI and the 27 T1 liked to be run high on the plate. I had a Detwiler though. Try running a high set up. It liked the 26 Tempest as well.
