Ive been playing with this boat since the end of last winter and now Im finally satisfied that I have about all that this boat has to offer me. I went out today, after moving my jackplate around and turned my 27 Tempest into the rev limiter on 3 different passes. I know I need to stay out of the limiter and I will from now on. I think this prop will run fine this summer when the water warms back up. The holeshot was great on this prop too. I was expecting to lose some out of the hole, but I didnt. I did not run a GPS, but next time I will definately have it with me. Im curious now that it is setup to its best so far what kind of true GPS speeds Im seeing out of this boat. I was also surprised with the tempest at how well it did running WOT with very little walking. I was expecting more since I had been running Trophies, but I think it actually walked less today than it ever has. I just thought I would post this to maybe help anyone with the same setup or looking at a perchasing one in the near future. Ever since Ive owned this boat I felt there was more to be had in the speed category, but Im finally satisfied.

Travis, Where you running 26 Trophy before that? That is what I am running but have been curios about the 27.

I have ran a 25 tempest, 25 trophy, 26 trophy, 27 trophy, and 27 tempest. The 26 trophy is in 2nd place behind the 27 tempest on my boat. I was expecting the 26 trophy to be the best prop on my boat but the 27 Tempest has outperformed it in about all categories. It has carried the boat great with lots of lift, great holeshot, great top end performance, and surprisingly least amount of walking at WOT. Im very impressed and shocked that it ended up being the prop for my boat. I was expecting a trophy to be what ended up on my boat after all the playing was done.

You know, thats one thing thats tough to judge and put on the prop — walking. I think with me it is Im getting better at driving my rig — its a fine line.

I had the same experience when I went from a 25 Trophy to a 25 Tempest. It really woke up my boat with tons more lift and much less chine walk. The best thing about the Tempest on the Pantera is its mid-range acceleration. The Tempest will throw you into you back seat while the Trophy just kinda speed up. In my experience (which is not much) the Tempest really does better in the lighter hulls while the Trophy is tops in the heavier hulls of the Puma, FTD and PIVs.God Bless, Stephen
