Sounds like you may have an ECM issue or a sensor floating. A good dealer can tech that. If the engine has a smooth idle and a rough spot surging in between 3500 and 5000 somewhere you may have a characteristic not a miss. Sort of like those Yamaha engines idling on four cylinders and sounding like valve tappets. It drives some folks crazy.
