The non ftd puma will likely go shallower by a few inches. The ride will be excellent in either. The storage is completely different because of tanks-Puma(non-ftd) no underseat storage(because of tanks) with bigger/deeper rear storage Underseat tank I believe is 36 gallons- you have options of rear tanks as well to up the amount of gas the boat can handle.Puma FTD- underseat storage galore but smaller rear compartments. Two rear 26 gallon tanks.I owned a 2004 p4 with very similar storage to a regular puma- loved it.I now own a 2009 puma ftd which I also love. The difference to me is neglible. Everyone from a hard core tournament angler to a weekend occasional can adapt easily to either.Id decide based on(in order):1) Which one looks the best? Color? and scratches? Carpet looks good?2) Which motor does my mechanic like to work on? Nearly a tie with #1.3) Which one has the most warranty? Has the motor needed work?4) Which one costs more?5) Which one has less hours?6) Which one has the electronics I like?7) Which one has the trolling motor I like?
