1 year ago labor day I keeled over with a heart attack while on my riding mower. I never even suspected a problem, and hadnt been to a doctor in 31 years. 4 stents later I feel as good as new. One of the nurses told me I was very lucky because the ol widow maker still had 20% flow when it hit. All I can say is im sure glad im still able to post, and bug the crap out of some of you guys. Happy Labor Day guys!!
Good for you, and keep making the progress. You guys that have not been checked, well you should had oughta. Now,, but heck we are only talking about your heart.
Been there, done that. Had no clue either. It will be three years in December and five stents later doing well though get tired a little easier. Lucky for me I had had CPR and Defibrillator training so I recognized what was going on so called 911 early. Who knew when I took the training the life Id save would be my own….. Looking back there were signs but I missed them. Guys if you dont feel right and not sure why, go get checked out. Do it for your kids and grandkids if you wont do it for yourself.
Been over a year for me. No stents left artery collapsed and damaged side of my heart was found to be nonviable. I am on BP meds, exercising, and have lost 65#. Doc told me in a June that my heart was amazing efficient considering the damage. I Thank God for giving me a second chance at life everyday. I felt weak for several months but getting my strength back more to normal. I am a carpenter by trade (own my company) and have roofed 3 houses in the last few weeks. We carried shingles up the ladder on 2 of them because of no lift being available. Nothing makes you appreciate life like a near death experience!Dan
Glad youre doing OK Spanky. Take care of yourself bro, aint none of us gettin any younger. Maybe we all need kill switches installed on our riders. Sorry guys but I couldnt resist that one.
