I need some help guys!my favorite lake has a 10 mph speed limit. what is the best way to position the outboard so it does not labor and use so much gas?I have a 99 Pantera III with a 2004 200HP Optimax and 25p trophy plus with a hydralic jack plate. i have tried raising and lowering the jack plate and trimming in and out the outboard. any position and the the motor labors staying at 10mph and the bow is high!i seen a BASS or FLW tourney and noticed they all had there jack plates up high and the outboards trimmed way out and the bow stayed down, just not sure how fast they were going, is this the best way? any input would greatly be appreciated!!!

You cant go 10mph on plane, period. Just idle with engine trimmed where exhaust vents easily(midway), and go fishing.

Hydraulic plate at its highest setting, Outboard at a neutral trim angle will give you the fastest idle, least bow rise, and smallest wake. 10 mph is a very fast idle though. You will have some bow rise at that speed regardless. Just do like the basketman says and idle at a decent clip and go fishing. Good luck to you.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

thanks guys, i will give it a shot! i am not looking to get on plane at that speed just trying to save $$ on gas and not damage the motor!
