OK, I have checked the obvious, all the breakers I can find are good, all the fuses I can find are good, and yes all the switches are in the on position. All three of my 12 V outlets on my 16 Puma FTD are not working. Nothing I can find is unplugged or unconnected, so I am at a loss. I have been told of a breaker under the console, but cannot find it. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.- Chaz
There use to be a breaker near the courtesy light under the dash, but I havent seen one of those in a couple years. There is the breaker under the throttle near the master power panel. Other then that, it would be on the wire bus bar located in the bilge. Did they ever work or just dont work now? Are they tied into the rocker switch on the bow? Main power breaker on? Try the ACC switch on the round touch pad. Last edited by JSLAW on October 8th, 2016, 1:56 pm, edited 1 time in total.
JSLAW. Thanks. Original problem is not a problem. All are showing 14.3v when I touch the point of the volt meter in the back and touch the sides. Theyre getting power, but now I have to figure out whats going on. Theyre not corroded or rusty.- Chaz
These are power outlets and some standard cigarette lighter plugs will not work in them, which prevents putting a cigarette lighter in a plastic plug and melt down.
That makes sense. I pulled all of them out and cleaned what little oxidation was there with steel wool. Car charger for the phone still is shotty, but kind of works, which is explained by your comment. My spotlight works, too good. Plugged it in, didnt realize the switch was on, and it was face down. Got a nice little burn in my cockpit carpet now. Dumb move on my part. Need to find a USB charger that will work for the GoPro and Ill be good. Thanks JSLAW and BCB as always.- Chaz
The previous owner of my boat burned the carpet in a very similar manner. At least it wont unravel. Youre right TB. LOL. I could be mad, but it would still be burned. Is what it is.- Chaz
BassCat Parts has a USB. Not sure what the Go Pro requirements are though.http://www.basscatstore.com/5voltoutlet-dualusb.aspx Pro-Tec Productswww.protecproducts.com
Saw that, thanks. But I also use that plug for the spotlight during night tournaments. I think its good. Had another issue today concerning power to the power poles. Seems I have a short somewhere. Going to have Aqua Tech take a look at it the next time I can make it up there.- Chaz
Interesting…. so this past week while out fishing I began using my usb charger for my cell and would charge my phone and Bluetooth JBL speaker, after my second trip I noticed the USB now no longer works, I plugged it into my truck and a message came up that the device was using an extraordinary amount of voltage to charge. Im wondering if the plastic USB charger is to blame. All the plugs worked and still work, but the usb adapter is fried. Thanks for the info. If you cant get up to aqua tech we can do some troubleshooting here at the house, let me know, Im over in plantation off Broward. I believe I still have a spare switch for the powerpoles, which is always a good place to start, assuming you have a rocker switch for the power supply to your poles.Last edited by JSLAW on October 11th, 2016, 11:18 pm, edited 1 time in total.
